Recall of Honda Accords worsened by parts shortage

GasBuddy Blog -- The last thing anyone wants to hear is that their vehicle has been recalled. Even if the problem is a minor one, it's a nuisance to make an appointment with the car dealer; and for most of us that's one more thing on our to-do list that we didn't want or need.

Now, Honda Accord owners whose vehicles were manufactured from 2003 through 2007,are learning that a faulty power steering hose can leak fluid and cause a fire. Honda has a report of one fire (with no injuries) and a recall has been issued. But that's not the bad news...

Honda Accord model equipped with the V6 engine will have to be taken back to the dealers because of a power steering fluid leak which can cause a fire under the hood. NHTSA says that the latest...

may be having bad luck but much started w/ them having the earthquake.

The recalls are signs of the times in that ppl no longer care about the quality of their work.

Honda and Toyota are having some bad luck. Guess its time to look at a Kia. Scratch that I will stick with my GMC.

Similar to Toyota problems previously but at least knowledge is better than not to know about possible dangerous issues.

good on Honda for recalling with only one fire incedent. Other companies might wait til 100's of disasters have happened.

At least Honda is doing the right thing. The question is, who & where is manufacturing the faulty hoses? Honda or a subcontractor?

For such a small recall. Don't most Accords come with 4 cylinder motors?
Consider that 2013 Fusions and Malibus have no V6.
